Fulham are one of a number of Premier League sides reportedly interested in signing Stefan Johansen from Scottish Premiership champions Celtic.

After flirting with the exit last summer, it seems that Stuart Armstrong’s time at Celtic is up.
Armstrong, who is valued at around £4 million according to the Express with just a year remaining on his contract, is a target for Southampton, Crystal Palace, Brighton and newly promoted Fulham.

But who is the best option for a player who struggled badly last season to replicate his fantastic, 17-goal form of the 2016/17 campaign? Armstrong is a dynamic and high energy midfielder who could thrive in a fast-paced passing game.
Fulham, then, seems a perfect fit. The Cottagers, who beat Aston Villa in the Championship play-off final last month, already have one former Celtic midfielder on their books in the form of Norwegian international Stefan Johansen.

Johansen, who moved to Craven Cottage for around £2 million in 2016, has taken his game to a new level under Slavisa Jokanovic, whose attractive and creative style gets the best out of a gifted and forward-thinking midfielder.
Armstrong is a player cut from the same cloth so, if he wants to go to the next level in his career, following in Johansen’s footsteps might be the best option.
