Could Scott Sinclair’s future decide Odsonne Edouard’s fate at Celtic?

Scottish Premiership giants Celtic face seeing both Scott Sinclair and PSG loanee Odsonne Edouard leave Parkhead in the summer transfer window.

Scott Sinclair has been a shadow of his SPFA Player of the Year winning form since the turn of the year.

The winger hasn’t scored a goal since the win at Partick Thistle in January and his performances have been so poor of late that he has been overshadowed by the PSG loanee Odsonne Edouard, who has taken full advantage of Sinclair’s decline to establish himself as a key player for the Scottish Champions.

But if recent reports are to be believed, both could be on their way out this summer.

The Sun believes that Sinclair has grown unsettled in Scotland and wants to return to England with Bournemouth and Brighton keen.

And the same publication reckons Celtic’s deal to sign Edouard permanently at the end of this season is in jeapordy. PSG have set up a partnership with Vitoria Guimaraes and it is understood that sporting director Antero Henrique has offered Edouard to the Portuguese outfit.

But surely Celtic cannot afford to lose both this summer. This, coupled with the potential exit of Moussa Dembele, would leave Brendan Rodgers’ attack in pieces, even if Leigh Griffiths does sign a new contract.

Quite simply, if Celtic cannot stop Sinclair heading home, they must do everything they can to keep Edouard – even if his permanent fee makes him the most expensive signing in the club’s history.
