Leeds United flop Pawel Cibicki has been reportedly offered a route out of the Championship with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Molde

As most Leeds United fans will undoubtedly tell you, Pawel Cibicki looked decent when given a rare sniff of first team action last season.

The Polish-born Sweden forward was handed just seven Championship appearances last season. And despite the fact that he did not score a single goal in that time, a number of Leeds supporters couldn’t understand why Cibicki was completely frozen out once Paul Heckingbottom was appointed in February.

And Swedish paper Expressen is now reporting that Cibicki’s hopes of a fresh start under Marcelo Bielsa could be dashed too. Norwegian outfit Molde are understood to be hopeful of taking the 24-year-old on loan. But rather than end his Leeds career, could a spell back in Scandinavia actually save it?

If Cibicki does move to Norway, he will work under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer – the former Manchester United legend who was one of the most natural goalscorers of his generation.

In 366 games for the Old Trafford giants, the ‘baby faced assassin’ scored 166 goals, winning the Premier League six times, the FA Cup twice and famously netting that crucial goal in the 1999 Champions League final.

Cibicki, then, can surely only hone his finishing skills under Solskjaer’s wing. The Swedish U21 ace has only notched 22 career goals in 120 games so clearly there is room for improvement.

And if Cibicki can learn from the master, he would return to Leeds in 12 months’ time a much better footballer and a more effective striker.
