The Scotsman has enjoyed a success-filled first season in Germany so far.
Oliver Burke might have been something of a peripheral figure in RB Leipzig’s incredible rise from the second division to the top of the Bundesliga within six months but that does not mean he has any regrets about his decision to swap Nottingham Forest for Northern Germany.
The teenage winger became the most expensive Scottish player in history when he completed his £13 million move to the Red Bull-funded club in August, per Sky Sports, but, despite setting up a dramatic winner on his debut against traditional title-challengers Borussia Dortmund, Burke has only started one game in the German top flight this season.
Nonetheless, The Guardian report that Leipzig are ready to return to the City Ground to snatch another of Forest’s bright young talents, submitting a £6 million bid for talented midfielder Matty Cash (below, left).

The 19-year-old, linked with Chelsea by The Sun in November, has been a rare bright spark in an otherwise tumultuous campaign for the Championship giants but even that could be extinguished before the month is out.
After all, Cash could be forgiven for looking on with jealousy as Burke helps challenge Bayern’s Bundesliga monopolisation while Philippe Montanier’s side scrap to avoid a relegation battle.
Therefore, he could be forgiven for being tempted by the prospect of joining his fellow Forest alumni at the forefront of one of Europe’s most exciting footballing projects – especially if Burke’s comments about life in Leipzig reached his ears.
“I guess it is a brave move for me but I don’t regret any of my decisions whatsoever,” Burke told Sky Sports in November.

“I am very happy and every day I keep learning, keep getting better and better and see where it gets me but it is a great club.
“It’s an amazing feeling to be second in the Bundesliga at the moment and still doing so well and comfortably winning matches as well as a team. We are doing very well and it is great.
“I want to win the Bundesliga and I want to win it with RB Leipzig. Why not? We have the players, the quality; we have a great team so there is no reason why we can’t.”
Smashing Bayern’s dominance and gate-crashing the Champions League or fighting to survive with Forest; it’s not much of a decision.
