Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo is seemingly a fan of Manchester City’s forgotten man Mangala.

We have not seen the best of Eliaquim Mangala since he arrived at Manchester City for £32.5 million in the summer of 2015.
A defender who dominated Portuguese football with FC Porto has looked nervy, shaky and decidedly error-prone ever since Manuel Pellegrini brought him to the Etihad; and a dismal loan spell at Everton in the second half of last season will only be remembered for a horror-show display on his debut in a 5-1 thrashing by Arsenal.
Nonetheless, that did not stop Wolverhampton Wanderers from expressing an interest. The Sun reported that Mangala was an option for the Premier League newcomers, and the fact that his agent is Jorge Mendes appeared to be the crucial factor.
Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo is clearly a fan, having tried and failed to bring Mangala back to Porto in 2016.
But could the France international still be a viable target for Wolves in January?

Nuno has fielded the same back three in every one of their Premier League games this season but, with Kortney Hause and Dominic Iorfa out of favour, they could do with some depth in the face of potential injuries or suspensions.
So Mangala – who has not been included in a single match-day squad all season thanks to a combination of injuries and the form of those ahead of him at City – is certainly an option heading towards the January transfer window.
