Pedro Chirivella was reportedly a target for Championship leaders Leeds United but now he’s playing Premier League 2 football for Liverpool.

It seemed that Pedro Chirivella’s time at Liverpool was over. But despite being linked with a whole host of clubs, the Spanish midfielder is still at Anfield and will remain there until the New Year.
Though staying on Merseyside is hardly helping the development of a talented young midfielder who has spent the last two years farmed out on loan to Holland via Go Ahead Eagles and Willem II.
The Liverpool Echo reported that Chirivella turned down a move to Rosenberg despite Liverpool accepting a £3.5 million bid as Goal reported that he wanted to sign for Celtic instead and reunite with Brendan Rodgers.
Now, however, the former Valencia and Spain youth captain is stuck in the reserves, making six Premier League 2 appearances in 2018/19. The chances of Chirivella forcing his way into Jurgen Klopp’s first team, thanks to the array of talented midfielders at Anfield, looks slim.

But could Leeds United offer him an escape route in January? According to Goal, The Whites were interested in signing him over the summer and Chirivella could still come in handy in the New Year.
A hard-working and technically gifted midfielder, the 21-year-old would fit Marcelo Bielsa’s high-intensity, possession based style and he’d add some much-needed depth in a Leeds side who face a tough task retaining their place at the top of the table with a very small squad at their disposal.
