Joe Hart is on loan at West Ham from Premier League champions-elect Manchester City – but could he stick around at the London Stadium.

West Ham will need a goalkeeper this summer.

AS have claimed that Adrian, who has grown frustrated with his restricted game time with The Hammers, is wanted by former club Real Betis this summer. And, of course, Joe Hart is only on loan from Manchester City.

So a replacement appears to be needed. Sam Johnstone, who is on loan at Aston Villa from Manchester United, is the most recent reported target, The Mirror claiming that West Ham are weighing up a £4 million bid.

But is the answer to West Ham’s goalkeeping problem right under their nose?

Now, we should probably avoid getting overly hyped about Joe Hart’s fantastic performance in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Saturday. Making at least four top class saves, the Hart of old was in attendance at Stamford Bridge but we’d do well to remember that this is one of the few vintage performances he has produced in two years.

Then again, if Hart can build on this and finally find some consistent form in a West Ham shirt, there is no reason to think David Moyes won’t want to keep him at the London Stadium.

Man City have no need for him anyway, so the England international will almost certainly be on the market this summer. If Hart can show that his Chelsea masterclass is more than just a false dawn, don’t rule out the 30-year-old sticking around.
