Championship duo Leeds United and Hull City were reportedly tracking Sturm Graz midfielder James Jeggo earlier in the season.

Leeds United fans might have forgotten all about James Jeggo.

As reported by The Mail, Leeds and Championship rivals Hull City were keeping a close eye on the Australian midfielder with his contract at Austrian outfit Sturm Graz set to expire at the end of the season.

The trail has grown a little cold since those links first emerged in October but it is worth remembering that Jeggo still has not signed a new deal with the T-Mobile Bundesliga outfit – and may be on the lookout for a new club this summer.

“The next decision is a big one for me and it’s a tough one. I’m at that age now. I have an offer from Graz, and it’s somewhere I’m very happy,” Jeggo, who was omitted from Bert van Marwijk’s Australia squad for the last international friendlies before the World Cup, told The World Game.

“But there are other opportunities that are happening at the moment, and a few things I’m working through.”

The World Game understands that Jeggo is being followed by clubs from some of Europe’s biggest leagues, and the energetic midfielder has made clear that he would only leave Sturm Graz for a club in a more reputable league.

And, arguably a move to England’s second tier would provide exactly that. Whether Leeds United are still interested after the signings of Yosuke Ideguchi and Adam Forshaw in January, however, remains to be seen.
