Rangers are planning to raid Scottish Premiership rivals Kilmarnock for Youssouf Mulumbu – but Dundee’s Glen Kamara has an opportunity at Ibrox.

If Rangers want to sign Youssouf Mulumbu this summer, they should keep a close eye on a player nine years younger and with pretty much the same skill set.
The former West Brom midfielder has been a revelation at Rugby Park, inspiring a 1-0 win at Ibrox last month, and admitted to the Scottish Sun that he was very proud at being linked with a move to one of Europe’s most historic clubs.

But Rangers are about to welcome a potential Mulumbu alternative to Ibrox. Dundee will arrive in Glasgow on Saturday on the back of a very impressive goalless draw away to Celtic.
And if Glen Kamara performs like he did at Parkhead, he should find himself right at the top of Rangers’ summer shopping list. Like Mulumbu, the former Arsenal youngster, who has played three times for Finland, is a powerful and rangy presence in the centre of the park.
But Kamara is blessed with arguably greater technical ability and impressive distribution that would see him fit in if Graeme Murty stays in the dugout beyond the end of his contract this summer.

While Mulumbu has earned plaudits aplenty for his excellent displays at Kilmarnock, Kamara continues to go under the radar – but for how much longer?
Considering that Rangers have a habit of targeting players who have performed well against them, there could be more at stake for Kamara than three points.
