Leeds United are preparing a bid for Josh Windass and Scottish Premiership giants Rangers are suddenly attempting to bring Emerson Hyndman back to Ibrox.

Emerson Hyndman was perhaps the first of many Rangers players to get the ‘Pedro Caixinha treatment’.
The hugely talented American quickly lost his place in the starting XI after Caixinha replaced Mark Warburton at the helm in March of last year. But, before then, Hyndman had made a real impression in his first few weeks as a Rangers player, joining on loan from Bournemouth for the second half of the 2016/17 campaign.
And the Sun reported on Wednesday evening that a return to Ibrox was on the cards for the 21-year-old, who has struggled to force his way into Eddie Howe’s first-team plans at the Vitality Stadium.

Hyndman, who would become Rangers’ fourth signing of a busy transfer window, made a superb impact north of the border a year ago, adding creativity, vision and a goal-threat to an otherwise one-paced midfield.
And it is interesting to wonder what Rangers’ sudden reported interest in re-signing Hyndman means for the future of one Josh Windass.
The 24-year-old has been in excellent form since becoming a key player under Graeme Murty, netting six goals in his last 11 games from midfield. And these performances have attracted interest from England, the Daily Record stating this week that Leeds United are prepared to outbid Preston North End for the former Accrington Stanley talent.

Windass could add an extra attacking dimension to a Leeds midfield high on tenacity and work rate though low on productivity in the final third.
And Hyndman, who shares many similar attributes, could be a ready-made replacement at Rangers; albeit a short-term fix.
