Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor has admitted that he’d love to sign for Scottish Premiership giants Celtic

For the first time in Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic career, the Scottish Premiership champions are in crisis.
After winning the domestic treble in each of Rodgers’ first two seasons at the helm, the 2018/19 campaign could hardly have started worse. Celtic were knocked out of the Champions League in August and have since endured their worst start to a league season for 20 years.
Sunday’s 2-1 loss at Kilmarnock means Celtic are sixth, six points behind pacesetters Hearts and behind rivals Rangers too. Rodgers doesn’t even have influential striker Moussa Dembele to call upon after his deadline day move to Lyon came too late for Celtic to sign a replacement.
So it remains to be seen whether the Hoops are desperate enough to take up Gabby Agbonlahor’s offer.

The 31-year-old former Aston Villa striker is still a free agent and, speaking to the Scottish Sun, admitted recently that he would jump at the chance to sign for Celtic and was hoping to hold talks with Rodgers about a potential move to Parkhead.
And with Celtic struggling for creativity seemingly lacking game-changing options in attack, suddenly the jet-heeled and versatile Agbonlahor doesn’t seem like the worst option in the world.
Signing the former England international on a short-term deal would freshen up an attack which has looked increasingly stale since the start of 2018 – at least until Celtic can sign a ready-made Dembele replacement in the New Year.
