Championship side Swansea City could lose right-back Connor Roberts with Celtic eyeing January signings.
With Mikael Lustig 32, past his best and looking increasingly like a weak link, it is no surprise that Brendan Rodgers wants to bring a new right-back to Celtic.
After missing out on Italian speedster Cristiano Piccini, who swapped Sporting Lisbon for Valencia in August, The Sun reports that Iran international Milad Mohammadi is on the radar of the Scottish Premiership champions.
The Akhmat Grozny defender was targeted in the summer and it is claimed that Celtic will now rival Watford and Fenerbahce for his signature in January.
But, with plenty of competition, the Hoops would be well served hedging their bets and looking for alternatives.
Like Connor Roberts, for example.
According to the Sun, the Swansea City breakthrough star could leave the Liberty Stadium one year after making his professional debut. The 23-year-old is out of contract at the end of this season and it is claimed that an extension looks unlikely as it stands, meaning the Swans could be forced to sell.
The six-time Wales international has really caught the eye this season with his adventurous, swash-buckling displays and has started every one of Swansea’s 17 Championship games. He would also be perfect for a manager like Rodgers who loves to work with young, raw talents.
