Kouassi Eboue surprisingly stayed at Celtic in August despite the Scottish Premiership champions signing Youssouf Mulumbu on a free transfer.

So Eboue Kouassi will be staying at Celtic until January at least.
The Ivorian midfielder has become the club’s forgotten man in the last year or so. A £3 million signing from Russian outfit Krasnodar in January 2017, Eboue has made just 19 appearances for the Scottish Premiership champions in that time.
And according to the Daily Record, Eboue was told that he was free to find another club on transfer deadline day last week.
For the second window in a row, however, his expected departure did not materialise. But perhaps the man who seemingly pushed Eboue even further down the pecking order could actually help to reignite his Celtic career.
Role model
The Hoops finally offered Youssouf Mulumbu a route out of unemployment in late August, signing the former Kilmarnock midfielder on a two-year deal.
And while Mulumbu provides another obstacle for Eboue, the former West Brom and Norwich man is the perfect role model for Celtic’s seldom-seen 20-year-old.

They are similar players after all, energetic and pragmatic midfielders who are in their element when hassling and harrying the opposition. The 31-year-old Mulumbu, however, possesses huge experience and know-how, as well as being an affable figure off the pitch – attributes that Eboue could do well to learn from as he aims to smooth out those rough edges.
Eboue’s lack of game time could be damaging for his development. But training alongside a proven veteran like Mulumbu could benefit him in the long-term.
