Brighton and Hove Albion reportedly want to bring Nick Powell and Celtic’s Scottish Premiership champion Callum McGregor to the Premier League.

Celtic’s vital 1-0 win against Aberdeen at the weekend has alleviated some of the pressure that was rising at Parkhead.
But The Hoops’ worst start to a domestic season for 20 years means that the January transfer window is already looking crucial to the club’s immediate future, particularly with Rangers looking resurgent and challenges coming from Edinburgh too.
Though Celtic’s hopes of improving their fortunes, not to mention their squad, could be ruined by Brighton and Hove Albion.
As reported by The Sun (30 September, page 59), Brighton are hoping to sign Celtic’s key midfielder Callum McGregor in a £10 million winter deal. The Scotland international, worryingly, is keen to test himself in England.
And the same publication has claimed that Brighton’s new technical director Dan Ashworth recently watched Wigan’s 2-1 home win against Hull City with his eyes firmly on Nick Powell.

The Latics star has contributed to eight goals in nine Championship games already and The Sun report that he’s also a target for Celtic, who are preparing a lucrative contract offer to lure the playmaker to Scotland with his current deal due to expire next year.
But Celtic’s best laid plans could be left in ruins if Brighton win the race for both McGregor and Powell.
