Championship Leeds United and Premier League Leicester City are reportedly keen on La Liga attackers – Alaves’ Ibai Gomez and Celta Vigo’s Brais Mendez.

Leeds United’s hopes of bringing one of the in-form stars of Spanish football to Elland Road in 2019 could rest on the shoulders of Leicester City.
Leeds have been linked with Alaves’ talisman winger Ibai Gomez in the last few weeks with Marcelo Bielsa seemingly keen to reunite with a player he coached during his spell in charge of Athletic Bilbao (Goal).
AS, however, reports that Leeds are not alone in attempting to land Ibai before his Alaves contract expires at the end of the season. It is understood that Celta Vigo are keen to keep the 28-year-old in La Liga.
And this is where Leicester come in.
Because Cadena Cope (20 November, 9am) reported on Tuesday that The Foxes will trigger the £23 million release-clause of Celta starlet Brais Mendez in the January transfer window after he scored the winner on his Spain debut in the 1-0 friendly win against Bosnia and Herzogovina.

And Ibai would be a ready-made replacement given that he plays in the same right-wing position that Mendez have thrived in this season.
So if Leceister get their man, Leeds’ hopes of bringing Ibai to Elland Road could potentially hang by a thread.
