Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers and Celtic could both be chasing Ali Crawford this summer.
Glasgow Rangers and Celtic could be on a collison course to battle it out for Hamilton’s Ali Crawford during the summer transfer window.
Crawford has caught the attention with his form for Hamilton this season, with the midfielder being one of the stand out players in the Scottish Premiership.
The 25-year-old has scored nine goals and made six assists in 31 domestic appearances.
And both Rangers and Celtic could well have Crawford on their wishlist, judging by recent quotes coming out of Ibrox and Parkhead.
New Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has already praised Crawford in his first press conference as Light Blues manager.
He said to Rangers’ Youtube channel: “We know that Ali Crawford is a very good player. I’ve watched a couple of games and he seems a good player, taking good decisions and making the difference.”
Celtic are also believed to be looking for Scottish players in the summer, with Brendan Rodgers wanting to add domestic-based players.
New Celtic head of recruitment, Lee Congerton, has already stated that signing Scottish players will be his priority, and Crawford will surely be on the Glasgow side’s watchlist.
Congerton revealed to the Daily Record: ”Glasgow and Scotland has got to be at the heart of what try and do here and the United Kingdom.”
If Crawford does have a chance between Rangers and Celtic it remains to be seen who he would pick.
Celtic have been far more successful than Rangers this season, but there may be a prospect of immediate first-team football at Ibrox.
