Herbie Kane shone at Doncaster Rovers last season but is he returning to Keepmoat on loan from Premier League runners-up Liverpool?

If Doncaster Rovers fans weren’t feeling rather giddy already after a stoppage-time Wes Burns own goal gifted them a dramatic 3-2 win against Fleetwood Town, the sight of Herbie Kane back at the Keepmoat has merely tripled the excitement in South Yorkshire.
The 20-year-old Liverpool starlet was a revelation on loan at Doncaster last season after all.
With seven goals to his name, a young midfielder who grew up idolising Steven Gerrard was a worthy member of the League One Team of the Season, firing Rovers into the play-off places.

With Donny winning just one of their first three games of the new season after missing out on promotion, Kane’s return could be exactly what new manager Darren Moore needs to get his reign up and running in style.
The Hull Daily Mail claimed that Kane was a target for a number of Championship sides, including Hull City. But with the transfer window now shut for second-tier sides, the path is free for Doncaster to re-sign a fans’ favourite for another 12 months.
Speaking to the club’s official website in May, Kane admitted that he loved ‘every minute’ of his time at the Keepmoat. Is he heading back for more?
