Adama Traore scored the only goal as Wolverhampton Wanderers sealed their first Premier League win of 2018/19 against West Ham United.

It took a while in coming but Wolverhampton Wanderers finally sealed their first top flight win since 2012 on Saturday afternoon.

And, after draws with Everton and Manchester City and an unfortunate home defeat to Leicester, it came in dramatic fashion too. Into stoppage time and with the scores level at 0-0 at West Ham’s London Stadium, Adama Traore burst in to fire home a clinical winner and send Nuno Espirito Santo and his coaching staff into raptures.

While the club-record £18 million summer signing hogged all the headlines, it was two other Wolves players who caught the eye of Stan Collymore as he chose his latest Team of the Week for The Mirror – Conor Coady and Joao Moutinho.

“Impressive for Wolves with a clean sheet for the Molineux men. Coady came up the hard way after leaving Liverpool and learning his trade in a lower league. Now he’s enjoying his time in the top flight,” Collymore said of captain Coady, who is thriving at the heart of Wolves’ back three.

Moutinho, meanwhile, has been a revelation since his bargain £5 million move from Monaco. An immensely classy operator in the centre of the park, the 31-year-old former Sporting Lisbon and Porto man is showing why he has accumulated 113 caps for Portugal.

“Hasn’t he been linked with a Premier League move for like, ever?” Collymore added.

“Now he’s finally made it, he kept Wolves ticking over against West Ham . His partnership with countryman Ruben Neves should get better and better.”

With solid pros like Coady and Moutinho, plus a dash of game-changing quality a la Traore, Wolves are well placed to add to their one Premier League win so far.
