Cameron Carter-Vickers is unlikely to play Premier League football for Spurs, and impressed on loan in the Championship last season at both Ipswich Town and Sheffield United.

Ipswich Town manager Paul Hurst played down speculation linking Cameron Carter-Vickers with a return to Portman Road before the end of August. But it seems that the fans are far more positive about the idea of the highly-rated Tottenham defender wearing Tractor Boy blue once more.

20-year-old Carter-Vickers has made just four first-team appearances for Spurs, all of those coming in cup competitions.

And he faces a major challenge if he is to finally make his Premier League debut in the coming months with Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier and Juan Foyth all capable of playing at centre-half.

So another loan move away from North London could do Carter-Vickers some good. He impressed in 14 Championship appearances at Ipswich in the second half of 2017/18 and the Sun believes they are keen to sign the USA international again.

Unfortunately, both Swansea and Sheffield Wednesday are also interested with The Swans and The Owls badly lacking depth in defence.

But although Ipswich seem to be focusing on a permanent deal for Blackpool’s rising star Curtis Tilt, Carter-Vickers would be a very popular addition in East Anglia.
