Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic moved eight points clear of Old Firm rivals Rangers in the Scottish Premiership table this weekend thanks to Scott Brown’s heroics.

Chris Sutton has included three Celtic players in his most recent Team of the Week – and has even found a place for one Rangers man.
Brendan Rodgers’ side overcame one of their biggest remaining hurdles in their pursuit of an eighth successive Scottish Premiership title on Sunday, beating bogey team Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in the most dramatic style.
Understandably, Scott Brown is running the midfield in Sutton’s TOTW after his last-gasp winner in Ayrshire, even if his goal threatened to be outshone by a second yellow card after the skipper was found guilty of ‘over celebrating’, if there is such a thing in a potential title decider.
Sutton, himself a Celtic legend, also included Dedryck Boyata, who impressed at centre-half as the Hoops kept a much needed clean sheet. Jonny Hayes was rewarded after a standout performance at left-back too; the Irishman shining in the continued absence of Kieran Tierney.

Meanwhile, though Rangers will be frustrated by that goalless draw away at St Johnstone, a result which means they are now eight points behind Celtic in second, they could at least console themselves with an outstanding performance from stand-in goalkeeper Wes Foderingham.
The 25-year-old made two superb stops to avoid an embarrassing home defeat, making his point in the absence of suspended number one Allan McGregor.
