Crystal Palace are reportedly hoping to sign Roma’s £18m Serie A forward Schick to boost their Premier League survival hopes.

Crystal Palace’s pursuit of a much-needed centre-forward could be boosted by the most unlikely of sources – London neighbours Chelsea.

With the January transfer window looming on the horizon, it is no secret that Roy Hodgson’s Palace are crying out for a striker to fire them to safety. Christian Benteke, Alexander Sorloth and Jordan Ayew have struggled with form and fitness and, as a result, The Eagles are hardly soaring with 14 goals in 17 matches.

But could Patrik Schick be the man to keep Crystal Palace in the Premier League?

Calciomercato have claimed that the 22-year-old Czech Republic international could be on his way to Selhurst Park, just a year-and-a-half after he moved to Roma from Sampdoria for a club-record fee of £18 million.

And latest reports from Calciomercato have suggested that Chelsea could help Palace out.

It is understood that Roma would be willing to let Schick leave on loan in January if they can sign Michy Batshuayi as a replacement. The Belgian is still a Chelsea player but he’s on loan at Valencia, where he has managed just one goal in 13 La Liga matches.

And should Chelsea allow Batshuayi to swap Los Che for the Giallorossi, this could pave the way for Schick to board a plane to London.
