Spurs reportedly want to bring Nikola Kalinic back to the Premier League from La Liga powerhouses Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window.

In a strange twist of fate, Chelsea could pave the way for Tottenham Hotspur to sign a striker this month.
Marca claimed on Monday that Spurs had expressed an interest in signing the Atletico Madrid centre-forward Nikola Kalinic, just 24 hours after Fernando Llorente endured a nightmare in Harry Kane’s absence against Fulham.
Kalinic, a £13 million summer signing from AC Milan (Goal), has struggled for regular starts under Diego Simeone, making just five in La Liga and one in the Champions League.
And, according to Marca, Atletico are prepared to let the one-time Blackburn Rovers flop leave the Wanda Metropolitano as they need to raise money for the impending arrival of one Alvaro Morata.
It is understood that Chelsea have permitted former Real striker Morata to return to Madrid this month, The Guardian claiming that he will arrive on loan with the option to make the deal permanent for £48.5 million.

So it seems a case of one in, one out for Atleti. And, should Spurs bring Kalinic to North London this month they will have Chelsea to thank.
Whether the Croatian international proves to be an upgrade on Llorente remains to be seen.
