West Ham United reportedly want to bring Fabio Borini back to the Premier League after a year in Serie A with AC Milan.

Fabio Borini was linked with a move to West Ham United just four days ago and their hopes could be over already.

Calciomercato stated that the Hammers were monitoring the situation of the versatile Italian, who only recently made his loan move at the San Siro from Sunderland permanent for around £5 million.

But Borini has not waited around to seemingly confirm that he won’t be wearing claret and blue next season. Arguably, the most underwhelming of Milan’s many new signings last summer, the 27-year-old quickly became an integral part of the first-team thanks to his work-rate and ability to play in a variety of roles, including wing-back.

And, speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Borini has seemingly made it clear that his future lies in Milan, not London.

“My dream is to win a trophy with this shirt, and the Supercoppa (against Juventus) would be an excellent start to more important ones,” the former Chelsea and Liverpool forward said.

“Exodus at Milan? For me, certainly not. Generally speaking, I don’t think so. Excuse me but where would I run to? We’re at Milan after all.”

Borini might be a player with, let us say, limited ability but he has played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including a short spell at Roma.

And it seems that, despite the appointment of Manuel Pellegrini giving West Ham far more pulling power than they had under David Moyes, the opportunity to wear the famous red and black of Milan is too strong for Borini.
