Heart of Midlothian centre-back John Souttar started as Craig Levein’s side lost 2-1 at Scottish Premiership rivals Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday.

With only four games to go in the Scottish Premiership season, Rangers are already putting their plans in place ahead of the summer transfer window.
And the report also adds that Allen is keen to bring in two new centre-backs this summer, after the departures of Danny Wilson and David Bates (below) to Colorado Rapids and Hamburg respectively.

But will John Souttar be one of the names on his list? In the eyes of Rangers fans, the 21-year-old is definitely a player the Glasgow giants should be making a move for this summer.
Souttar has been one of the most highly-rated young defenders in Scotland ever since he made his debut for Dundee United just three months after his 16th birthday back in 2013.

Five years on, he continues to impress with Hearts these days and is rated very highly at Tynecastle. The Daily Star (29 December, page 48) claimed that Derby County were interested in a player who would cost in excess of £1 million.
But after impressing in Hearts’ 2-1 defeat at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon, should Rangers consider making a move for Souttar this summer?
