Timothy Weah was Celtic’s match-winner as Brendan Rodgers’ Bhoys beat St Johnstone 2-0 in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.

Timothy Weah has admitted that he was a little fortunate not to be shown a yellow card at the end of Celtic’s 2-0 win at St Johnstone on Sunday.
The Paris Saint-Germain loanee has made a huge impact since arriving in Glasgow during the January transfer window, coming off the bench with 15 minutes to go to inspire a hard-fought victory at McDiarmid Park.
Weah set up the opener for James Forrest moments after arriving on the pitch and clinched the three points in stoppage time with his third Celtic goal.
The 18-year-old dived into the crowd to celebrate with the visiting support but he avoided punishment from referee Willie Collum – despite the fact that Forrest was booked for an almost identical offence.
“I bet James is wondering why I didn’t get booked,” Weah told the Daily Record. “I noticed James had been booked for doing the same thing and I thought he was going to book me too but that’s life.

“The referee told me that he would have given me a yellow card but the fans didn’t fall over and told me to be careful the next time. It’s weird, because I thought the ref was coming over to give me a card but he said the fans didn’t fall over so I got away with it.
“But I have to say that the goal and celebration would have been worth a booking, 100 per cent.”
Weah is already becoming a fan favourite at Celtic and not just because he has a handy knack of finding the back of the net.
The USA international is clearly appreciative of the support that is coming his way in Scottish football and, who knows, maybe he is the signing who drags Celtic to an eighth straight title and makes everyone forget about Moussa Dembele.
