Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are reportedly facing a battle with Premier League Bournemouth for Luton Town’s Jack Stacey.
Bournemouth’s squad is full of players who shone in the lower leagues before being given their chance in the top flight by Eddie Howe.
Charlie Daniels, Josh King, Callum Wilson, Chris Mepham, Lewis Cook and David Brooks all made their name outside of the Premier League after all. Now, with Howe putting in plenty of trust and honing their talents in his free-flowing style, all of the aforementioned sextet are established top flight performers.
So you could forgive Jack Stacey for being tempted by a move to the South Coast.
Luton Town have already lost left-back James Justin to Leicester and they could be forced to sell their right-back too with the Mail claiming that Celtic are interested.
The Scottish giants need to replace Mikael Lustig and Stacey, an attack-minded and technically gifted player who already has one league title on his CV. wouldn’t break the bank at £2 million (the Sun).
But with Bournemouth joining the race, Celtic’s task has just got a whole lot harder.
The Cherries might just be the perfect club for a young, hungry player looking to prove himself at the top of the British game. Both Lewis Cook and Callum Wilson became England internationals under Howe, after all.
