With Leeds United in need of attacking reinforcements this summer, Leigh Griffiths could hardly have produced a better audition.
The Express and Star claimed recently that the Championship side, who finished once place outside the play-offs last season, were plotting a move to bring the Celtic striker back to England this summer.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers man had been linked with Leeds back in 2015 but, with a lack of firepower beyond top-scorer Chris Wood costing the club dear in 2016/17, it is no surprise that they are reportedly keen to revive their interest.

And the 26-year-old’s performance for Scotland against the neighbours from below the border on Saturday evening will only have ramped up his value.
Inspiration over perspiration
Whipping home to equally magnificent free-kicks in the space of three minutes late on at Hampden Park, only a last-gasp Harry Kane equaliser denied the Auld Enemy their first triumph over England since 1999.
And, for the most part, it is easy to draw comparisons with Scotland’s performance in that World Cup qualifier to most of Leeds’ displays in the second half of last season; full of industry and effort though lacking in inspiration.
Until Griffiths stepped up, his underrated technical ability highlighted with two beautiful hits of his left boot.
It is the sort of inspired intervention that Leeds were crying out for as their promotion hopes slipped away in the final weeks under Garry Monk.
And Griffiths is the sort of signing that could ensure history does not repeat itself next time around.
