Scottish Premiership giants Celtic will make signing a new goalkeeper their top priority this summer with Norwich City loanee Angus Gunn on the list.

Norwich keeper Angus Gunn reacts during the Sky Bet Championship match between Cardiff City and Norwich City at Cardiff City Stadium on December 1, 2017 in Cardiff, Wales.

With less than two months left in the season, Angus Gunn did not exactly pick the best time to produce arguably his poorest display of the campaign.

The Sun claimed in the middle of March that the Norwich City goalkeeper, who is on loan at Carrow Road from Manchester City, had attracted the interest of Scottish Premiership giants Celtic.

Gunn has played twice since then, but has failed to show the kind of form that would justify a summer bid from the reigning Scottish Premiership champions.

The 22-year-old has conceded six goals in the last 180 minutes of action and has been on the end of some stinging criticism after being made to look red faced by Matt Smith’s strike in the 4-1 battering at QPR on Easter Monday.

This dip in form is not exactly well timed. As The Sun points out, Celtic are still keen to tie loanee Scott Bain down to a permanent deal and, while Gunn is struggling, the 26-year-old has been in fantastic form.

Bain has kept clean sheets in both of his last two games.

Scott Bain of Celtic controls the ball during the Rangers v Celtic Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match at Ibrox Stadium on March 11, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

So on this evidence, there is only one goalkeeper that Celtic should be prioritising right now – and it is not the promising youngster at Norwich City.
