The young centre-back is yet to feature on a regular basis for Manchester City and Celtic could take advantage.
Manchester City must be commended for laying down the foundations for a long-standing legacy. They may have some of the richest owners in world football but, as emphasised by their £200 million academy complex (BBC), they are just as committed to bringing through the next generation as they are signing the stars of the present.
Nonetheless, regardless of their potential, each player needs minutes in order to make that small but substantial step from the reserves to the first-team.
And although Manuel Pellegrini and now Pep Guardiola have clearly identified 19-year-old Tosin Adarabioyo as a key pillar in future City sides, the fact that he has only played four senior games, none in the Premier League, means he is unlikely to be totally convinced about the prospect of putting pen to paper on a new long-term deal.

As it stands, the Nigerian’s deal expires in the summer and with the Daily Mail reporting that Celtic were interested in the summer it seems inconceivable that Brendan Rodgers will not make his move in the months ahead.
After all, the path from the Etihad Stadium to Celtic Park has been frequently travelled in recent seasons, with John Guidetti and Patrick Roberts both arriving on loan and Dedryck Boyata signing on a permanent deal.
Furthermore, former City squad players Kolo Toure and, in particular, Scott Sinclair have made a huge impact on and off the pitch this season.
Therefore, Adarabioyo will not be short of advisors informing him of the benefits of a move north of the border while the prospect of regular game time under Rodgers, a man renowned for his ability to mould young talent, could allow him to take the valuable next step in his career.

City’s loss could be Celtic’s gain.
