Newcastle United reportedly watched Amiens defender Krafth against Hull but Celtic need a right-back too.

Celtic have already signed one right-back this summer in Hatem Abd Elhamed but they are not done there.
The Israel international might replace Mikael Lustig at Parkhead but the Scottish champions need to plug the gaps left by the departures of Jeremy Toljan and Cristian Gamboa too.
That is precisely why, according to the Scottish Daily Mail (25 July, page 82), Celtic are eyeing up Basel’s Silvan Widmer, Valencia’s Antonio Barragan and Lech Poznan’s Polish flyer Robert Gumny.
But maybe they should follow Newcastle United’s lead instead and send scouts to watch Sweden international Emil Krafth instead.
According to the Chronicle, the Amiens’ defender was being watched by representatives from Tyneside on Thursday as the Ligue 1 outfit beat Hull City 2-0 at the KCom Stadium.
A 24-year-old right-back with 20 caps for his country, Krafth is hardly the most swashbuckling full-back in European football but he is solid at the back and remarkably disciplined. Unlike, Celtic fans will be keen to point out, Gamboa or Toljan.

Krafth undoubtedly benefitted from those four years at Bologna, honing his defensive talents in the home of Catenaccio before joining Amiens for £1.8 million. If Abd Elhamed has been signed to add pace and attacking intent, Krafth could be a more reserved, regimented option for daunting European nights.
And his price-tag won’t break the bank either. With Celtic running out of time to strengthen, Newcastle should not have it all their own way.
