Celtic are reportedly hoping to raid Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen for star centre-back Scott McKenna.

Back in the January transfer window, Celtic went hell for leather to secure the signature of a highly-rated, young Scottish centre-back who had enjoyed a brilliant breakthrough over the last few months.
But maybe they signed the wrong one. Ever since completing his protracted £1.5 million move to Celtic from Dundee seven months ago, Jack Hendry has struggled to prove why he is so admired by Brendan Rodgers.
Hendry has not been helped by playing out of position at right-back on a number of occasions. But the fact that some Celtic fans had written him off just after he arrived did not bode well.
Now, Celtic are reportedly looking at another highly-rated, young Scottish centre-back. But perhaps Aberdeen’s Scott McKenna is the one they should have gone for in the first place.
The Scottish Sun claims that Rodgers is keen to raid perennial runners-up Aberdeen for the 21-year-old Scott McKenna; a player so promising that he even captained Scotland on only his fourth international appearance against Mexico in May.

Rated at £10 million by an Aberdeen side desperate not to sell, according to the Daily Record, Celtic have a massive challenge luring McKenna to Parkhead. But he is the sort of tough, commanding centre-back that Celtic have needed for a while.
Maybe Rodgers should have targeted him, rather than Hendry, in January when his price-tag was not so steep.
