Activity in the Championship means that Celtic might have an out to sign Nick Powell.

Team Talk reported last weekend that Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers was ‘keeping a very close eye’ on Wigan Athletic star Nick Powell.
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder would be an exceptional coup, given that he has netted three goals and set up another three in five Championship outings for Wigan this season.
And have Celtic’s hopes of landing him slightly improved?
Team Talk also reported that Leeds United were in the reckoning, but the Elland Road side have turned their attentions toward Izzy Brown [Sky Sports News].
If true, that is surely United out of the race, considering that Powell and Brown are of a similar mould, and the Whites would have seriously threatened Rodgers’s chances of getting Powell.
The Scottish Premiership side still have Middlesbrough to contend with, but the likely reality of Boro’s Championship rivals not being a player in this race any longer is definitely positive for the Bhoys.
Plus, Rodgers might just need another attacking midfielder, after Australia manager Graham Arnold raised injury concerns about Tom Rogic by revealing that the 25-year-old star was set to receive a knee injection directly after Sunday’s Old Firm clash.
Powell, valued at £5 million by the Latics [Team Talk], can also be used as a striker and bagged 17 goals from 36 career games as a number nine [Transfermarkt], which may also interest the Scots amid doubts about Moussa Dembele’s future.
