Celtic are reportedly interested in signing the Liverpool man, but is the competition too fierce?

According to a report from The Gambling Times, Celtic are interested in signing the out-of-favour striker, who hasn’t made a Premier League appearance since November.
But with bigger fish lurking, surely that one is a lot more unlikely now.

The Daily Mail have reported that Inter Milan are now sniffing around, after Liverpool rejected a loan attempt by Sevilla on Wednesday.
If true, the implication suggests that the Reds want a quick sale and what are the chances of him joining Celtic if Inter – not to mention Newcastle United and West Ham United – are also interested?

Sturridge has never looked the same player since Rodgers – who brought him to Anfield – was sacked by Liverpool in October 2015 and although working under the Northern Irishman again at Celtic might entice him, going to Italy or staying in the Premier League makes a hell of a lot more sense for his hopes of going to the World Cup with England this summer.
It always looked a long shot and it looks like Sturridge at Parkhead will remain a pipe dream for now.
