Eamonn Brophy’s goal helped Kilmarnock beat Rangers and Celtic establish themselves at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

Eamonn Brophy is becoming some player at Kilmarnock. But, if you ask his former Celtic teammate Massimo Donati, the forward’s talent was never in doubt.
The sprightly forward continued his outstanding form for the shock title challengers as Killie beat Rangers 2-1 at Rugby Park on Wednesday night, taking his tally to nine from 20 games this season with a sublime lofted finish after a dreadful Joe Worrall error.
Killie’s win will have gone down well at Celtic, allowing Brendan Rodgers’ side to move three points clear of their Old Firm rivals at the summit.

To make the result even sweeter, Brophy is a former Celtic player who spent eight years in The Hoops’ academy before leaving for Hibernian in 2011.
And Italian midfielder Donati, who knows the striker well from his time at Parkhead between 2007 and 2009, has taken time to pay tribute to Brophy’s game-changing heroics.
Blessed with pace, skill and an eye for the spectacular, Brophy is starting to look like one-that-got-away for Celtic and a first ever call-up for the Scottish national team must be on the cards.
