Two-time Scottish Premiership champion Scott Sinclair could reportedly leave Celtic and return to England with Championship outfit Boro.

There is not a single wide player in Scottish football who can match Scott Sinclair’s statistics over the last three seasons.

By the time the 2018/19 campaign comes to an end, the former Manchester City and Chelsea winger could have won three successive domestic trebles with the Glasgow giants while providing a glut of goals and assists from the left wing.

Sinclair has scored 25, 18 and 17 times in his three seasons in the famous green and white shirt. Not bad for £3 million, as reported by the Guardian. So the fact that so many Celtic fans think it is time for Sinclair to go is certainly a surprise.

According to the Sun, Middlesbrough are keen to bring the former England U21 international back to England this summer and are hoping that a bid of £2 million does the trick.

But why are Celtic supporters so happy to see Sinclair leave? Well, there is a few reasons.

At the age of 30, there is a feeling the Hoops have already seen the best of the 2016 SPFA Player of the Year and, in Lewis Morgan and Maryan Shved, the Premiership leaders have two exciting young forwards ready to take his place.

And the stone cold truth remains that Sinclair has been a shadow of his former self this season. He is not even a guaranteed starter anymore. Maybe it is time to let go.
