Celtic are reportedly set to sign another winger with Karpaty Lviv’s Maryan Shved heading to the Scottish Premiership for £2million.

Celtic need a right-back, a centre-half and a dynamic central midfielder to replace Scott Brown. One position the Scottish Premiership champions do not need to strengthen, however, is out wide.
Yet, according to Ukrainian publication Sport Arena, Celtic are in the final stages of a £2 million deal to sign Karpaty Lviv forward Maryan Shved.
Fans were less than impressed when the rumours first emerged on Friday, particularly as Brendan Rodgers can already call upon Oliver Burke, Scott Sinclair, James Forrest, Mikey Johnstone, Jonny Hayes and Lewis Morgan.
But, having spent the last few days scouring the internet for clips of Shved’s best moments, it seems that some supporters have been won over, even going so far as to compare him to the one and only Patrick Roberts.

The similarities are certainly evident. Like Roberts, who scored 18 goals in two-and-a-half seasons on loan from Manchester City, Shved is a winger capable of the spectacular.
The 2018 Ukrainian League Player of the Year, he has made a trademark out of cutting inside and whipping picture-perfect shots into the top corner from all sorts of angles and ranges.
Whether he will be as successful as Roberts in green and white, we will just have to wait and see.
