Former Chelsea defender Kyle Jameson had a trial at Scottish Premiership giants Celtic before joining Championship side West Bromwich Albion

Celtic fans could be forgiven for forgetting all about Kyle Jameson.
As reported by the Daily Record in July last year, The Hoops took the teenage Chelsea defender on a fortnight’s trial as they were mulling over signing him. Standing at 6ft 3ins and with the seal of approval from Chelsea, Jameson certainly had the raw attributes to thrive under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers.

But just a month later, Jameson was signing a contract with West Bromwich Albion instead. And with The Baggies having since been relegated to the Championship, it seems that the 19-year-old could soon be handed his chance.
Jameson didn’t miss a single second of The Baggies’ U23 Premier League 2 campaign last season and, along with fellow youngster Jack Fitzwater, appears to be on the verge of a first-team bow, especially with Jonny Evans (below) gone and Ahmed Hegazi and Craig Dawson expected to follow.

Now, Celtic are currently lacking quality centre-halves with Jozo Simunovic and Jack Hendry struggling in the second half of last season while Marvin Compper failed to make an impression thanks to injuries.
There is also a good chance that Dedryck Boyata could be on his way. So what a chance this would have been for Jameson to make his mark at Celtic.
Instead, he will be hoping for a chance at West Brom to prove that Celtic missed a trick not signing him when they had the chance.
