Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are reportedly sending scouts to watch long-time target Omar Elabdellaoui during Romania versus Norway.

It’s not every day that a Champions League captain is available for well below his market value but, with Elabdellaoui’s contract due to expire at the end of the season, Olympiakos are facing up to selling their skipper for a cut-price fee in January or risk losing him for absolutely nothing.
According to the Mail, Celtic could take advantage with the Hoops sending scouts to watch the right-back in action last night during Romania’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Norway in Bucharest.
Aston Villa, Leicester, Burnley, Bournemouth and Watford are interested in bringing a former Hull and Manchester City flyer back to the Premier League too.
Now, the eagled eyed among you will know that this isn’t the first time Celtic have been linked with the 27-year-old Norwegian flyer, whose brilliant rabona cross was the highlight of a creditable 1-1 draw with Spain on Saturday.
The Sun reported back in January that Elabdellaoui was valued at £4 million when Celtic first showed an interest. 12 months on, Olympiakos simply have no option but to drop his price tag rather substantially with the Greek giants suddenly caught between a rock and a hard place.
Suggestions that Celtic have renewed their interest raise a few questions. Does Neil Lennon perhaps see Hatem Elhamed as a centre-half long-term? Is Jeremie Frimpong not yet trusted for a run in the team?
And what about Stoke City loanee Moritz Bauer? Are Celtic already scouring the market for a full-time replacement?
