Scottish Premiership champions Celtic could reportedly sell Stuart Armstrong and Eboue Kouassi
John McGinn might have just a year left on his Hibernian contract but don’t make the mistake in thinking that Hibernian will be accepting low-ball offers for the 23-year-old.
According to the Scotsman, he is rated at £5 million by his Hibs boss Neil Lennon. So if Celtic finally put an end to months of speculation and bring McGinn to Parkhead, they would have to make him one of their most expensive additions of all time and just £1 million short of their record signing.
But if the Scottish champions sell two of their underperforming midfielders, they will not only be making room for McGinn but funding a deal for him as well.
According to the Daily Record, Celtic are willing to listen to offers for Stuart Armstrong after a disappointing season in which he scored just five goals, 12 down from his tally the year before. It is understood that Southampton, Brighton and West Brom are interested with Armstrong rated at £4 million.
Kouassi Eboue could be on his way too. The £3 million man has barely made an impact since he joined from Krasnodar in January 2017 and the Scottish Sun report that he could be sold this summer, though a loan is more likely at this stage.
If Celtic can make about £6 or £7 million for the pair, McGinn would suddenly be well within their means.
