Of course, conceding a late winner in front of a raucous Celtic crowd is unlikely to harbour a positive atmosphere around Ibrox, particularly as the result seems to kill off any lingering title hopes.
But supporters should focus on the progress they have made this season rather than the gap that still exists at the top of the table.
Then again, you could forgive fans for writing off Graham Dorrans as he approaches the end of his second season at Rangers.
The Scotland international arrived amid high expectations in 2017, costing £1.3 million when he was snapped up from Norwich City (Sky).
But, after an underwhelming debut season, Dorrans has managed just three appearances throughout 2018/19 thanks to an ongoing knee problem.
The Evening Times reports that his ill-fated spell at Ibrox is coming to an end with Rangers planning to discard the 31-year-old at the end of the season.
And it seems that Rangers fans would not be surprised to see him go. With a whole host of midfielders at Steven Gerrard’s disposal, it seems there is no room for Dorrans anymore.
