Premier League strugglers Cardiff City are attempting to sign Colombia international Luis Diaz from Atletico Junior.

Cardiff City have made a bid to sign young Colombian winger Luis Diaz ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Marca.
A 22-year-old who plays in his homeland for Atletico Junior, the exciting attacker has been a revelation since making his first-team debut in 2017.
He scored 14 goals in all competitions last season to establish himself as one of South America’s most promising talents and was rewarded with his first cap for Colombia in September.
And Marca believes that Cardiff are moving heaven and earth to lure Diaz to South Wales. It is claimed that they have made a bid of around £7 million and, if Atletico Junior accept, the forward will be on his way to Britain in the summer.
Interestingly, Diaz’s agent Carlos Van Strahalen admitted to AS yesterday that Cardiff are interested, Neil Warnock’s side having scouted the youngster during Junior’s 2-0 Copa Libertadores defeat to Brazilian outfit Palmeiras.

“There is an interest (from Cardiff) like that of other clubs that came to watch the game yesterday,” the agent said.
It remains to be seen whether Cardiff’s hopes depend on whether they can survive their first season back in the Premier League.
