Mikey Johnston has admitted that he could be better off leaving Celtic on loan so what chance him joining Scottish Premiership rivals Hibernian?

Mikey Johnston would probably be a regular in the starting XI of most Scottish Premiership sides.
It just goes to show how far ahead Celtic are at the top, then, that the 19-year-old winger made just three league appearances last season as Brendan Rodgers’ side romped to a seventh successive league title. No wonder Johnston is interested in leaving the club on loan this summer.
In quotes reported by the Daily Record, the teenager admitted that he could benefit from a temporary stint elsewhere as he looks for increased game-time.
“I’m a Celtic fan so I want to be here as long as possible and break into the first team. If this isn’t my year then I’ll need to go somewhere else to play. I’ll see what the gaffer thinks,” said Johnston, a truly special talent who turned heads with a wonder-goal against England at the Toulon tournament this summer.

There should be no shortage of clubs in Scotland keen to land the teenager on loan and it seems that most Celtic supporters would give Johnston their blessing as he aims to go the long-way round in an attempt to follow Kieran Tierney, James Forrest and co into the first-team.
Could Celtic, as some fans have predicted, even include Johnston as a sweetener in the deal to bring John McGinn to Parkhead?
