Rangers face a real challenge keeping Scottish Premiership top scorer Alfredo Morelos at Ibrox beyond this season.

Rangers stood firm to keep hold of Alfredo Morelos on transfer deadline day.
As reported by Sky Sports, Chinese Super League team Beijing Renhe made an £8 million offer for the Colombian striker. And it is understood that Morelos was keen on the money spinning move as he is one of the lowest earners in Rangers’ squad.
Yet while Morelos will be a Rangers player for the next few months, it appears that Graeme Murty and co have an even bigger task holding on to the Scottish Premiership’s top scorer before the start of next season.

Fortunately, however, Rangers fans can at least take some solace in knowing that they have an ideal replacement for Morelos lined up already.
After all, the Gers landed Jason Cummings on loan from Nottingham Forest for the rest of the season with an option to make the deal permanent in the summer. And though Cummings has just one goal in four league games since returning to Scotland, he could be a revelation if he rediscovers the prolific form that made him one of the nation’s feared strikers at Hibernian.

In fact, Cummings became the first player in over 50 years to break the 20-goal barrier for three seasons in a row at Hibs.
So with the 22-year-old on board and with a long-term stay at Ibrox possible, the potential loss of Morelos could be a little easier to swallow.
