Abdoulaye Doucoure reportedly emerged as a target for Premier League title chasers Liverpool on the back of his fine form at Watford.

Back in May, Abdoulaye Doucoure admitted it was his ‘dream’ to sign for Liverpool in an interview with Canal+. And, if he impresses at Anfield tonight, the French midfielder may find himself one step closer to making that dream a reality.
After all, while Doucoure is keen on Liverpool, it seems the Merseyside giants are big fans of him, too.
The Mirror reported in the autumn that Jurgen Klopp’s side have been watching the former Rennes powerhouse, despite the £50 million price-tag put on his head by Watford (the Mirror).
The Hornets travel to Liverpool for tonight’s Premier League clash and there could be more than three points on Doucoure’s mind.
Should the 26-year-old dominate the centre of the park, and perhaps add to his three goals and six assists this season, he will have aced his audition just months before the summer transfer window begins.

It is the job of Naby Keita, Gini Wijnaldum and co to prove that Liverpool do not need to pay £50 million for another combative, dynamic midfielder.
If Doucoure did move to Anfield, he would face a tough battle forcing his way into Klopp’s starting XI. So the Frenchman will know that he needs to stand out.
