Scottish Premiership giants Celtic loaned Kristoffer Ajer out to Kilmarnock in 2017 – and have now sent Calvin Miller to Dundee.

Kristoffer Ajer has been a regular at the heart of Celtic’s defence for a year now. And the Norwegian centre-back owes much to that loan spell at Kilmarnock in the second half of the 2016/17 season.
After all, the former IK Start defender had not made a single appearance in the Scottish Premiership before he made that move to Rugby Park midway through Brendan Rodgers’ debut campaign in Glasgow.
And Ajer certainly seized his chance in Ayrshire. The 22-year-old made 16 league appearances for Killie and earned plenty of praise for his performances, particularly when snuffing out Rangers’ attack in a goalless draw.
“It’s been brilliant for me staying here for a lot of months, playing regularly and I’ve met some really good guys,” Ajer told the Evening Times.
Ajer returned to Parkhead in the summer of 2017 and has not looked back. Now, Calvin Miller will be hoping to follow in his footsteps.

Like Ajer, Miller has been loaned out to a smaller top flight side, this time Dundee, after struggling to force his way into Celtic’s first-team plans. And although the left-back has played just once so far for Neil McCann, he has certainly made a good impression.
Miller set up a goal on his debut in a 3-1 defeat to Motherwell and was lauded by Dundee fans on Twitter for his swashbuckling approach.
Ajer showed that a loan spell away from Celtic can pave the way for a promising future in green and white. So Miller should know what he has to do.
