Jay Rodriguez wants a fresh start away from Southampton this summer and is set to make a £15m switch from St Mary’s.
That is according to the Daily Mail, who say that Burnley, Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion are the three clubs interested in signing the forward.
Both Newcastle and West Brom have been considering Rodriguez for some time, but while the Clarets have only recently entered the race they could well have the winning card up their sleeve.
That is because the 27-year-old is from Burnley and came through the Lancashire club’s youth system before breaking into the first team back in 2007.
Rodriguez went on to make 128 appearances and scored 41 goals during his time at Turf Moor and with such strong links there he could well be tempted to return to kickstart his career.

It could prove to be quite the steal as well, as back in 2013/14 the England international was rated as one of the finest attackers in the Premier League after scoring 15 goals in 33 games and also earning his first – and to date only – senior cap for the Three Lions.
However, a cruciate ligament injury suffered at the end of that season kept Rodriguez out of action for more than a year and although he has played 50 times for the Saints since then, has struggled to recapture that same form.
