Sporting Lisbon captain Bruno Fernandes has been linked with both Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester City.

Sporting Lisbon captain Bruno Fernandes appears to have thrown open the door to a potential move to Liverpool by admitting to Record that he prefers Jurgen Klopp’s Champions League winners over Manchester City.
The attacking midfielder has emerged as a target for some of Europe’s biggest clubs after producing a remarkable 32 goals and 18 assists in all competitions for Sporting across 2018/19 with Manchester City standing as his most likely destination according to some sources.
The Guardian reported almost a month ago that City had made a £47 million bid for Fernandes, though the trail has grown cold since as speculation over his future continues.
And, speaking to Record, Fernandes has suggested that he would be open to joining the newly crowned Champions of Europe, admitting that he prefers Klopp’s all-action style over Pep Guardiola’s famed possession-based principles.
“Guardiola has made the best of the players in the team, he knew that it was going to be difficult in England and he adapted, it’s a City that plays, more or less, in the way of Barcelona,” the Portugal international said.

“(But) I like Liverpool a lot more. It’s a more direct, more offensive, maybe less organized, but more intense football, when you do not have the ball possession you are more intense.”
“In Liverpool they are more individual players, especially in the midfield, usually playing three very aggressive players and recovering the ball, then they have three players at the front who are lethal, when they have the opportunity.”
Fernandes has also been linked with a move to Anfield, The Mirror suggesting Liverpool as a potential destination earlier this year with Sporting expecting to demand far less than his £90 million release clause from potential suitors.
