Bruno Alves struggled in the Scottish Premiership with Rangers but has been back to his best with Serie A newcomers Parma.

Bruno Alves is a target for Juventus. Yes, you read that right Rangers fans.

Six months after the veteran centre-back saw his contract at Ibrox cancelled by mutual consent, reports from Gianluca Di Marzio are claiming that he could be on his way to the Serie A champions in a move that will send shock waves across the blue half of Glasgow.

Alves failed to live up to expectations during the 2017/18 season at Rangers, looking like a player well past his best.

But, at the age of 36, the former Porto, Zenit and Fenerbahce man has enjoyed a new lease of life since joining Italian phoenix club Parma in the summer, producing some outstanding displays to help Roberto D’Aversa’s side into the top half of the table.

And Gianluca Di Marzio claims that none other than Juventus are keen to offer Alves the biggest transfer of his career with Parma identifying Inter Milan’s Andrea Ranocchia as a potential replacement.

The 2014 European Champion is not the only veteran centre-back linked with Max Allegri’s league leaders, Sky Sports claiming that Branislav Ivanovic and Martin Skrtel are also under consideration. Former Juve and Uruguay defender Martin Caceres has also been linked with a return to Turin.
