Tom Heaton has not made a Premier League appearance for Burnley this season, so could he return to the Championship with Bristol City?

Tom Heaton has gone from first choice to third choice goalkeeper at Burnley in the space of 12 months.
The dislocated shoulder he suffered in a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace at the start of last season has cost the long-serving Clarets stopper dear. Nick Pope was outstanding in Heaton’s absence, nailing down the number one jersey and even forcing his way into England’s World Cup squad.
Even with Pope himself now enduring a prolonged spell on the sidelines, Heaton is still out of favour, with Joe Hart finding form again since his move from Manchester City.
As a result, the Sun (4 November, page 59) reports that the 32-year-old could have his heart set on a move away from Turf Moor in the New Year.

It is claimed that Heaton has joined the 10Ten agency in an attempt to find a new club. The three-time England international wants more regular first-team football and, the Sun adds, he would prefer to leave on loan rather than on a permanent basis.
Heaton represented Bristol City in the 2012/13 season before signing for Burnely and the Sun reports that they were keen to bring him back to Ashton Gate in January.
