Bristol City defender Adam Webster admitted that he grew up supporting Leeds United as Marcelo Bielsa’s side prepare to travel to Ashton Gate on Saturday, speaking on the club’s official vodcast.

After thrashing West Bromwich Albion 4-0 at Elland Road last week, Leeds face another daunting task away at a Bristol City side that has been in fine form since the turn of the year, forcing their way into the Championship play-off places.

The game will carry extra significance for Webster, the 24-year-old centre-back who has started 31 games in the second tier this season.

“Well I was actually a Leeds fan when I was younger,” Webster said. “I just followed my dad and he was a Leeds fan.”

“It’s fine [facing them this weekend] – I’ve played against them a few times.”

Webster could in for a tough afternoon against a resurgent Leeds, however, with big-money summer signing Patrick Bamford finding form at last after an injury-hit debut season in West Yorkshire.

The former Middlesbrough striker scored twice in the comfortable win against Darren Moore’s Baggies at Elland Road, firing home in the first half before converting a deflected second after the interval.
